    ‘It Blew Away My Expectations’

    August 6, 20252 Mins Read

‘Underrated’ 80’s Hair Metal Frontman, 69, Wows Fans With Recent Performance: ‘It Blew Away My Expectations’ originally appeared on Parade.

It seems that 2025 is the year of the comeback: from Guns N’ Roses to Ringo Starr, there are so many artists that just aren’t ready to “hang it up” quite yet. While sometimes things have changed with these prolific acts over time, most are pleasantly surprised to see their icons out there doing their thing.

When it comes to classic ’80s hair metal, comebacks can be iffy. Since a lot of the sound is wrapped up in that high-pitched, yelling tone, it can be hard to recapture it as older performer. However Stephen Pearcy, 69, of RATT fame, is out here showing people how it’s done. Recently the band made an appearance in Bangor, Maine and impressed crowds with their sound.

People commented that there was no doubt that the band can still rock.

“He sounded a lot better than I expected him to,” admitted one fan. “It blew away my expectations.”

“Love this,” quipped another. “He was awesome…”

“He is still hot, confirmed one loyal fan.”

To be fully transparent, the entire lineup of RATT was not in attendance; Pearcy is touring under his own name alongside fellow RATT member guitarist Warren DeMartini, 62. The pair plan to be on the road from now until Friday, November 14 throughout America.
