Will there be Twisted Metal season 3?
Peacock has officially renewed Twisted Metal for a third season, signaling strong confidence in the growing franchise. In a notable creative shift, David Reed, best known for his work on The Boys and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, will step in as showrunner and executive producer, succeeding Michael Jonathan Smith, who helmed the first two seasons. The renewal follows the impressive performance of Season 2, which amassed 993 million minutes viewed and became Peacock’s second highest-reaching original returning scripted season.

Reed will lead the series alongside collaborators Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, with returning executive producers Will Arnett, Marc Forman, Anthony Mackie, and PlayStation Productions. With Reed’s expertise in genre-heavy, darkly comedic storytelling, Season 3 is poised to push the series into even bolder and more unpredictable territory.
Internet reacts to the renewal
While some people were over the moon, others felt that the platform should focus on bringing back stronger adaptations instead of average ones like Twisted Metal.
One wrote, “They cancel masterpieces but keep Twisted Metal alive? Yeah streaming is officially cooked.”
Another added, “This show just refuses to slow down and I’m here for it.” A third went on to add, “They really said renew it again, the chaos isn’t enough yet.”
