
At India Energy Week 2026 in Goa, GAIL (India) Ltd highlighted its expanding role in shaping India’s clean, secure and technology-driven energy future. Speaking on Day 2 of the conference, Jyoti Kumar, Head – Corporate Communications, GAIL India, described India Energy Week as a powerful global platform bringing together leaders across oil & gas, natural gas, hydrogen, renewables, LNG and even nuclear energy. GAIL shared key insights into its hydrogen initiatives, including the production of 4.3 tonnes per day of hydrogen using a PEM electrolyser at its Bijapur plant — a major hub in India’s gas ecosystem and part of the historic Hazira–Bijapur–Jagdishpur (HBJ) pipeline network. The conversation also focused on technology and innovation, with GAIL leveraging AI, automation, SCADA systems and digital monitoring to manage its nationwide gas pipeline infrastructure, logistics and production efficiency. Highlighting its future-ready approach, GAIL has undertaken AI training for all 5,000 employees, underlining its belief that technology will be central to achieving net-zero goals and sustainable growth.
