The 2025 Saanich Fair opened Saturday morning, celebrating its 157th year running with a tightly packed schedule of activities for all ages.
Hosted by the North and South Saanich Agricultural Society every Labour Day weekend, the fair opened Saturday at 9 a.m. and closes Monday, Sept. 1 at 4 p.m.
Considered Western Canada’s oldest agriculture fair, the Saanich Fair has been running annually since 1868.
Located at the Saanich Fairgrounds at 1528 Stelly’s Cross Rd, this year’s fair is packed with animal show cases, including the Lead a Donkey event, midway rides, a Tiny Town Kids Zone that’s packed with activities, and live bands every night.
Saturday night’s headliner features Jump – a Van Halen Experience, and they hit the Saddleback Stage at 8 p.m.
Sunday night, Canadian rock and roll band, the Trews will play the mainstage.
Tickets can be purchased online and the cost is $11 for youth (ages 7-13 years), $16 for adults and $11 for seniors (ages 65+ years).
New to the fair this year, Capital Bike is offering its bike valet service known as The Locker.
“The Locker is a safe, secure and free parking service for bicycles, scooters, one-wheels, hoverboards, or whatever micromobility vehicle you use,” states the website.
Riders can head to the valet station and will receive a tag upon handing over your mode of transportation. Other upcoming events with bike valet service can be found at Capital Bike.ca.
More information on the events, including directions, tickets and a full schedule of activities, can be found at the Saanich Fair website.
