JEROMESVILLE — The Hillsdale FFA had a team of four compete in the state agricultural soil judging contest on Oct. 12.
The Agricultural Soils CDE is an educational activity designed as a practical method of teaching students to evaluate land and soil and to make decisions when faced with soil-related issues that affect agricultural production.
The team consisted of Reed Twinning, Kyle Turk, Owen Sloan, and Makayla Schwendeman.
They were coached under the leadership of Ken Parrott, who poured his knowledge of soils into these members. As a team, they placed 6th out of 50.
Individually, Reed Twinning placed 3rd, Makayla Schwendeman placed 62nd, Kyle Turk placed 65th, and Owen Sloan placed 126th.
Congratulations to the team on their accomplishments.
