An Inverness metal detectorist group has raised more than £1,000 in support of local charities.
Terry Kay and John Nevyn MacDonald, of Highland Metal Detectorists, handed over £510 each to SNAP, a charity supporting children with additional needs, and Highland Hospice, which provides palliative care in the Highlands.

The fundraising was part of a charity dig at Cullaird Farm, Scaniport, where participants contributed £10 each to take part.
A raffle featuring prizes kindly donated by local businesses – including Crawfords Minelab, Hollywood Bowl, Hobbycraft, Howdens, and The 3 Witches – also helped boost the total raised.
Terry Kay extended his thanks to everyone who helped make the fundraising a success, to the farmers for the use of their land, and to all the companies that donated prizes.

The group will hold thier next dig on Saturday, November 30, at Newton of Budgate, this time as a Secret Santa fundraiser.
