Metal band Crowbar is about to hit the road on a North American tour, which starts Thursday in Orlando, Florida. However, guitarist Kirk Windstein let everybody know that he will be performing from the seated position for the duration of the trek due to ongoing back problems.
In a video posted to his personal Facebook page, Windstein, 60, let fans know of his walking struggles due to sciatica or a potential ruptured disc. He has also been utilizing a cane and a walker as an aid to get around.
“I have sought medical attention both at the hospital and through my chiropractor, who I really love, and I either have, at the worst, a bad sciatica flare-up or potentially a ruptured disc in my lower spine,” Windstein said (as transcribed by Blabbermouth).” So I’m probably gonna have to start this tour — which begins Thursday in Orlando — a sold-out show, by the way; thank you all — I’m probably gonna start this tour sitting down, but we’ll be singing and playing top-notch, the best I can do. I just can’t walk right now, and that’s the truth.”
Windstein also went on to speak about the continued pain he’s been experiencing, but choosing to move with a positive attitude nevertheless.
“I’m 60 years old, and I’ve never had this pain in my life, Windstein said. “But anyway, I think positive; I don’t think negative. So it’s gonna be great, and we’re gonna kick ass every night. So thank y’all so much.”
