Dera Ismail Khan , Nov 15 (APP): Acting on public complaints, Assistant Commissioner Paharpur Dr Hamid conducted an inspection visit to Dhotar Adda on Saturday, where he reviewed the prices of various essential commodities and checked compliance with official rate lists.
During the visit, several shopkeepers were found violating price regulations and selling substandard and hazardous food items.
The Assistant Commissioner took on-the-spot legal action against the violators and ordered the immediate confiscation of all illegal and unsafe products.
He also issued strict warnings to the shopkeepers, directing them to remove and dispose of all harmful items from their shelves without delay.
Dr Hamid further examined the official prices of flour, sugar, pulses, vegetables and fruits, and instructed shopkeepers to prominently display the government-approved rate lists at their outlets. He emphasised that no overcharging or exploitation of consumers would be tolerated under any circumstances.
The Assistant Commissioner reiterated that any irregularity or violation of public-interest regulations would be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
