A father who was “beaten to a pulp” in front of his four-year-old daughter is set to undergo major surgery that will involve removing parts of his skull.

Kaisen Kinsella, 27, was enjoying a meal with his partner, Georgy Annaise, and their children, Sylvie Star, four, and Sully Moon, seven months old, when he was “brutally attacked”. The horrifying incident unfolded at the Dog and Partridge pub in North Stifford, Essex, on Friday, August 22, leaving Kaisen with a broken eye socket and a bleed on the brain.

He remains in hospital recovering from his injuries. A fundraising campaign has been launched to support the self-employed thermal insulator and his family during his recovery. His friend Charlie Meggs has since provided an update on the GoFundMe page.

He said: “This week, Kaisen will be undergoing major surgery. The procedure will include cosmetic reconstruction of his nose and the removal of damaged portions of his skull, which will be replaced with metal plates due to the severity of the fracture. In preparation, he has shaved his head and is ready to take this important step forward.

“Following surgery, Kaisen will remain in the hospital under close care. We will share an update once he has woken up and is safely back home.”

So far, more than £6,300 has been raised and Charlie expressed gratitude to everyone who had donated.

Following the assault, Georgy spoke exclusively to our reporter from Kaisen’s hospital bed, stating: “I never imagined a relaxed evening out with friends and family would turn into a nightmare that has completely upended our lives. This brutal and unprovoked attack has left my daughter traumatised.

“She’s having nightmares and has stopped eating. We’re still in shock, and I can’t help but wonder what has happened to humanity?”

Georgy also described Kaisen as a gentle giant, her best friend and an incredible father, adding: “He’s always the first to help anyone, and we wouldn’t wish what happened to him on anyone. While his physical injuries will heal with time and surgery, the emotional scars will take much longer. This is just the beginning of a long road to recovery for him and for all of us.

“Our daughter is supposed to start school next week. Instead of preparing her uniform and getting her excited for this new chapter, we’re now focused on hospital visits and emotional healing. I honestly don’t know how she’ll cope but I have to stay strong for my family and for our children, who witnessed this horrific attack.”

Regarding the investigation, a spokesperson for Essex Police confirmed a 17-year-old lad was arrested on August 28, on suspicion of ABH and GBH with intent. He has been released on bail until November 13.

In an earlier statement, Chief Inspector Tony Atkin said the victim was left with “awful injuries” following the “serious assault”.
