    Crude oil settled higher on Friday

    Crude oil recorded gains on Friday and finished the week more than 3.5% stronger, thanks to positive economic data and signals the Fed policymakers might cut interest rates in September.

    West Texas Intermediate crude rose 65 cents or 0.9% to close at $76.84 a baarrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

    Global benchmark Brent crude finished up 50 cents or 0.6% at $79.66 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

    September natural gas rose 1 cent to $2.14 per 1,000 cubic feet.

    Friday brought mixed trading results for Oklahoma energy stocks including a 5% gain for NGL Energy Partners and a 4% drop for SandRidge Energy.
