Cockermouth and District Agricultural Show is returning to the Fitz on Low Road in Cockermouth this weekend.
Saturday, August 2, will be ‘packed with livestock classes, equine competitions, traditional crafts, children’s entertainment, local food’ and more.
This event will be the show’s 173rd year as the local tradition has been ongoing since 1849.

Cockermouth Show secretary, Norma Boyes, said: “We hope that the weather is fine for show day! Please come and support us and have a good time.
“We appreciate all the exhibitors, trade stands and sponsors for their continued support, all their help and generosity the show would be a lot harder to run.
“As a show, we are especially thankful for all the efforts of the show committee and their families, which enables us the retain the entrance price for another year.”

There will be animal judging, which begins at 9:30 am, as well as a sheep clipping demonstration and a display of birds from The World Owl Trust.
There will also be machinery on offer, crafts and gifts to buy and a free climbing wall amongst other activities.
(Image: Supplied) Adult tickets cost £10, young person’s tickets cost £7.50, a family ticket costs £25 and under 5’s go free. Cash and card will be accepted at the gate.
