The Chaffee Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) will meet for it’s regular session at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, at the Buena Vista Community Center at 715 E. Main Street Buena Vista. On its agenda are consideration of a grant application to the Colorado Energy Office for the state’s “Energy Efficiency and Conservation Grant Program”.

Among the Contracts and grants under consideration is a discussion and decision regarding the U.S. Forest Service Volunteer Detector Network Grant Agreement, and a letter of intent to support a grant application to Colorado Garden Foundation for a demonstration garden and Fairgrounds entrance beautification.
The BoCC will weigh approval of a grant application, with the City of Salida as the co-applicant, to the Colorado Energy Office. The “Energy Efficiency and Conservation Grant Program” application supports local government staff capacity and regional collaboration support”. Chaffee Deputy Administrator Beth Helmke and City of Salida Deputy Clerk Sara Law will review the program’s possibilities for the county.
There is only one regular agenda item; the approval of Resolution 2024-48 Approving the Special Event Permit Application with Conditions for the Concert at the Meadows Farm Jun 26-29, 2025. The special event permit was a major topic of discussion at the BoCC’s July 8 meeting.
On the Consent agenda is acceptance of the Sheriff’s Office Monthly Report for June 2024, the Treasurer’s Monthly Report for June 2024, and approval of Resolution 2024-50 modifying the Planning Commission decision for the Trilogy Harvard Subdivision Preliminary Plan.
There is only one item on the hearing consent agenda, review and approval of the Hart Plat Amendment located at 18101 County Road 271. the request is to relocate the access easement on the plat to align with the existing roadway on the property.
