    Agricultural Output Price Index up 20.8% in the 12 months to March 2025 – CSO

    In the 12 months to March 2025, the Agricultural Output Price Index rose by 20.8 per cent, while the Agricultural Input Price Index fell by 1.5 per cent.

    The Index was up by 2.2 per cent in the month since February 2025, while the Input Price Index was up by 0.8 per cent.

    The most significant output price increases in the 12 months to March 2025 were in cattle (+40.4 per cent), milk (+17.6 per cent), and sheep (+4.3 per cent), while decreases were recorded in potatoes (-9.3 per cent) and vegetables (-1.6 per cent).

    Over the 12 months to March 2025, reductions in the Input prices were recorded for feed (-5.5 per cent), and seeds (-1.9 per cent), while veterinary expenses increased by 4.7 per cent and fertilisers went up by 3.6 per cent.

    Terms of trade rose by 1.4 per cent in March 2025 when compared with the previous month and was 22.7 per cent higher when compared with March 2024.
