Gold is one of multiple Ores you can find while adventuring around Orbis in Hytale, but it is particularly rare and quite hard to find. That said, once you’ve a concrete idea of where Gold Ore spawns in Hytale, it’s not too troublesome getting enough to craft the Alchemist’s Workbench that it’s necessary for.
Fortunately, you at least don’t need to go ahead and farm huge amounts of Gold to make any gear with at least, which you’ll no doubt be doing when it comes to the likes of Adamantite Ore and Mithril Ore. Anyways, to help you with tracking the elusive material down, here’s how to get Gold in Hytale.
How to get Gold in Hytale
Gold Ore can be found across all Zones of Orbis in Hytale, but it appears to be most common (and even then, it’s still rare) in Zone 2. This is the desert biome full of sandy plains and badlands, and you will typically find Gold at both surface-level and in caves while adventuring around this area, but it seems to be more common above ground.
It’s also worth noting that Gold Ore can be found beneath Zone 4’s volcanoes, in the strange gold rooms/altars that lie beneath them (shown in the below map screenshot). Here, you’ll find gemstones as well as some chests, and these chests have a chance to contain Gold Ore as well as other valuable resources.
Honestly, I personally had more luck finding Gold Ore in the chests beneath Zone 4’s volcanoes than I did out in the wild, but it’s definitely there! At the time of writing, the generation of Gold Ore deposits seems very random and very rare, but roaming around the desert and or going diving into volcanoes is your best bet for now.
Good luck mining for Gold in Hytale! For more on the world of Orbis, take a look at how to get Thorium Ore and how to get Redwood and Darkwood (which you’ll need for the Farmer’s Workbench), as well as our list of the best Hytale mods.
