Martin Lewis confirms £154 from energy firms including British Gas, EDF and EON | Personal Finance | Finance

Money expert Martin Lewis has issued a full list of energy firms who are promising to pass on the £150 energy bills cut announced in the Budget from April 1. The Money Saving Expert founder has been in discussions with the government and all the major energy companies trying to work out how and when each one will pass on the £150 cut announced in Labour’s Autumn Budget.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Martin Lewis Podcast, available on BBC Sounds, Spotify and Apple Music, Martin Lewis explained that most of the major energy companies he’s spoken to have now agreed to pass on the full £150 saving to customers from April 1 – even for those who are locked into a fix.

The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero said that the full amount is actually £154, on average, for each household, and is achieved by removing a renewable energy tax.

It said: “The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) and Renewables Obligation (RO) schemes are currently funded through costs to your bill. ECO funding will end from 31 March 2026. 75% of RO costs will now be funded from general taxation. The savings from this will take effect from 1 April 2026. We expect these savings to be passed on to customers on fixed tariffs from April 2026. These changes will continue to affect bills for the next 3 years.”

It added: “The £150 is a rounded £154 average per household figure.”

Speaking on the podcast, Martin Lewis then gave out a list of all the energy firms which have confirmed they will pass on the saving, and when.

Martin added: “I have a list in front of me where the vast majority of companies are now saying that they will apply the reduction to all tariffs and they will do it on April 1.

“100Green, yes yes, British Gas, yes yes, Co-Op Energy, yes yes, EOn Next, yes yes, Ecotricity, yes to passing it all on but to be confirmed in April, EDF is the same. Fuse, I’m awaiting its response. Good Energy, awaiting details. Octopus, yes yes, Ovo, yes yes, Outfox, awaiting response.

“Sainsbury’s Energy, yes yes, Scottish Power, intent but waiting for government details, SO Energy, awaiting response, Tulo, awaiting response, Utilita only has variable tariffs so yes, Utility Warehouse intends to, but awaiting further details from the government.

    “So there is a list.”
