Home Bargains selling £8 festive decor that ‘saves money on energy bills’

    December 4, 20253 Mins Read

The retailer says the ‘adorable’ decor is ‘perfect for bringing warmth and charm to your home this Christmas’

Home Bargains is selling an £8 decoration that could help homes to feel warmer this winter. During the colder months, many Brits living in poorly insulated properties struggle with icy draughts. However, affordable solutions like draught excluder tape and doorstops could be a significant help.

Representatives from the Energy Saving Trust suggest that draught-proofing a home could help to save around £85 a year. The experts explained: “Draught proofing around windows, floors and doors could save you around £85 a year in Great Britain (GB) and £80 in Northern Ireland (NI).”

The advice continued: “Draught-free homes are comfortable at lower temperatures, so you may be able to turn down your thermostat, saving even more on your energy bills. Turning down your thermostat from 22C to 21C can save you £90 a year in GB and £80 in NI.”

For shoppers seeking appealing draught excluders that don’t detract from the look of their home, budget retailer Home Bargains may have just the solution. The discount chain is selling a festive-themed £7.99 item: the Lifestyle Edit Christmas Highland Cow Draught Excluder.

With an ‘adorable’ highland cow design, the money-saving accessory could impress festive decor fans while getting the job done. Home Bargains says the decor is ‘perfect for bringing warmth and charm to your home this Christmas’.

The product description states: “Keep the cold at bay with The Lifestyle Edit Christmas Highland Cow Draught Excluder, featuring a charming festive hat that adds cosy Christmas cheer to any room. Perfect for a warm and welcoming holiday vibe!”

The description continues: “This adorable little guy comes complete with his cute Christmas hat, adding a touch of holiday cheer while keeping the chill out. Perfect for bringing warmth and charm to your home this Christmas.”

For customers interested in The Lifestyle Edit Christmas Highland Cow Draught Excluder, the product is available to buy online or in-store. Shoppers can find their nearest Home Bargains here.

Elsewhere, Dunelm sells a Country Living Highland Cow Draught Excluder with a similar design. Dunelm says the ‘characterful’ Highland cow design ‘sits neatly along the base of a door’. It is ‘designed to help keep draughts at bay’ and offers a ‘cosy plush faux-fur finish.’

The product description states: “Bring warmth and personality to your hallway or living room with this Highland Cow Draught Excluder. Styled with a fluffy, shaggy coat and friendly features, it helps reduce chills while adding rustic charm to your home – practical, playful and perfect for cosy nights in.

For customers interested in the Country Living Highland Cow Draught Excluder, the product is not available for click and collect. However, standard delivery is available online for £3.95. Shoppers keen to browse the products available in their local store can find their nearest Dunelm here.
