Coca-Cola Just Recalled Select Cans For Potential Metal Contamination

    October 22, 20252 Mins Read

    • A new FDA recall includes multiple Coca-Cola products made at a Texas facility.

    • The Class II recall cites potential metal contamination in select cans of Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, and Sprite.

    • If you have any of the 4,000+ recalled units, dispose of them or return them for a refund.

Soda lovers, it’s time to check your stash. The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has recalled three popular Coca-Cola products that may contain metal.

The recall applies to just over 4,000 units produced by Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages, LLC, a manufacturer based in Texas. All affected products were sold in Texas, so anyone outside of the Lone Star State can rest easy. The specific products are:

    • Coca-Cola cans, 24-pack (UPC 49000012781 / code date JUN2926MAA)

    • Coca-Cola cans, 35-pack (UPC 49000058499 / code date FEB0226MAA)

    • Coca-Cola Zero Sugar cans, 12-pack (UPC 49000012781 / code date JUN2926MAA)

    • Coca-Cola Zero Sugar cans, 35-pack (UPC 49000058468 / code date JUN2926MAA)

    • Sprite cans, 12-pack (UPC 49000028928 / code date JUN2926MAA)

    • Sprite cans, 12-pack (UPC 49000028928 / code date JUN3026MAB)

    • Sprite cans, 35-pack (UPC 49000058482 / code date JUN2926MAA)

At this time, no other Coca-Cola products are affected.

The FDA announced the recall on October 20, classifying it as a Class II, which means any health effects are expected to be temporary or medically reversible. Still, if you have any of the affected products, do not drink them, as consuming metal fragments can cause internal injury. Instead, dispose of the cans or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
