Cristiano Ronaldo Drops Fresh Retirement Hint During International Break

    October 11, 20252 Mins Read

Cristiano Ronaldo believes he still has a few more years left in him as he revealed what his family keep telling him about his legendary career.

Ronaldo is still going strong at the age of 40 for both club and country.

He scored an impressive 35 goals for Al Nassr last season and inspired Portugal to Nations League glory during the summer.

The superstar forward still has the hunger to score goals and succeed as he aims to lead his national team to next summer’s World Cup.

Ahead of Portugal’s World Cup qualifier against Ireland, Ronaldo was asked when he plans on ending his storied career – revealing his family want him to stop.

“People, especially my family, say: ‘It’s time for you to stop. You’ve done everything. Why do you want to score a thousand goals?’ But I don’t think so,” he told Canal 11. “I think I’m still producing good things, I’m helping my club and the national team, and why not keep going?”

Ronaldo added: “I’m sure that when I finish, I’ll be fulfilled, because I gave it my all. I know I don’t have many more years, but the few I have, I try to enjoy to the fullest.”

On Tuesday, the Manchester United and Real Madrid legend received the Prestige award at the Portugal Football Globes but he doesn’t view it as an ‘end-of-career award’.

“It’s not an end-of-career award,” he explained. “I see it as recognition of years of effort, dedication, and ambition. I like winning, helping the younger generations-and they also help me maintain my level and continue competing. That’s what excites me: competing with the younger ones. I still have a passion for this.”

Ronaldo has 1,000 career goals in his sights, having bagged an impressive 946 goals in professional matches across his club and international career.

He would become the first player to score 1,000 career goals if he achieved that feat.

Ronaldo, who signed a new Al Nassr contract during the summer, will be aiming to improve his tally of 141 international goals when he returns to action with Portugal.
