Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Swedish FinTech Vermiculus to drive digital transformation in global markets while deepening its engagement with the Nordic region.

The agreement was formalised during DMCC’s inaugural Made for Trade Live roadshow in Helsinki, Finland. The event underscored Dubai’s role as a gateway for international businesses seeking access to high-growth markets across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. With 324 Nordic companies already part of its ecosystem, DMCC is seeing a surge of interest from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, as firms increasingly select Dubai as their regional base.

Through the MoU, DMCC and Vermiculus will collaborate on the deployment of advanced financial technology solutions tailored for exchanges, clearing houses, and central securities depositories. The partnership also includes joint initiatives in knowledge sharing and the development of transformative projects that align with DMCC’s broader technology strategy. As the parent of the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX) and the Dubai Commodities Clearing Corporation (DCCC), DMCC is reinforcing its role as an enabler of cutting-edge solutions, including the integration of artificial intelligence across industries.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, DMCC, said, “The strengthening of economic and trade between the UAE and the Nordic countries reflects a shared focus on innovation, resilience and long-term opportunity. At DMCC, this momentum is reflected by our 324 Nordic member companies that are advancing clean energy, advanced technology and AI all core priorities across our district. By forging new partnerships such as with Sweden’s Vermiculus and hosting our first roadshow in Finland, we are laying the groundwork for a new era of UAE-Nordic collaboration.”

The Helsinki roadshow, organised in collaboration with the UAE Embassy in Finland and the Helsinki Region Chamber of Commerce, brought together senior Nordic business leaders and government representatives to explore the opportunities that Dubai presents as a hub for global trade. The programme will continue with a high-level luncheon in Dubai on 2 September, hosting the Ambassadors of Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden alongside leaders from Dubai’s Nordic business community.
