
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man allegedly stole more than $10,000 metal and steel from a building materials supplier.
According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department was contacted by an employee of a business on Dishman Lane. The employee told police three men took metal and steel from a recycling container on Saturday, August 23.
Police reviewed the surveillance footage and identified the license plate of the truck with a trailer shown in the video on Tuesday.
The license plate is registered to suspect Christopher Miller, 40, of Bowling Green.
Miller is allegedly seen inside the recycling container, tossing the materials into the truck and trailer.
An officer responded to a recycling facility on Power Street and reviewed surveillance footage allegedly showing Miller unloading metal and steel scraps from the truck into the parking lot on Saturday, August 23. The officer says Miller was wearing the same clothes seen in the video surveillance from the business on Dishman Lane.
The recycling facility paid Miller $13,800 for 1,980 pounds of steel.
Miller was located on Tuesday and taken into custody. He was lodged at the Warren County Regional Jail.
Miller is charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition of property $10,000 < $1,000,000.
The investigation is ongoing.
