The PlayStation trophy list for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has made its way online and players will need to seek out the game’s most famous Easter Egg to unlock them all.
The original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater launched on the PlayStation 2, which meant it pre-dated the era of unlockable achievements. Luckily, the Internet was already infatuated with the franchise, so that meant that all of the game’s secrets quickly made the rounds online.
The remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater launches on August 28, and its list of PlayStation trophies can now be read. According to Insider Gaming, one of these trophies requires the player to really think outside of the box to unlock it.
The End’s Old Age Trick Is Tied To An Achievement
One of the bosses in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is the end, an old man who uses a sniper rifle in battle. This results in one of the longest, most drawn-out fights in the series, as Snake must battle The End across multiple screens, trying to avoid being gunned down.
As this is a Hideo Kojima game, there’s an amusing Easter Egg tied to beating The End. If the player moves the PlayStation’s internal clock forward and loads up the game, The End will have passed away from old age, allowing the player to bypass the fight altogether.
In Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, one of the trophies is called “The Early End” and it’s earned by defeating him before the boss fight. This confirms the Easter Egg has returned in the remake and the player will need to do it at least once to 100% the game.
This is one of the easier achievements to unlock, especially compared to one that involves parrying all of a particular boss’ attacks. It does mean missing out on a unique boss fight, even if some players can’t stand doing it on regular playthroughs.
