The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), through its digital learning initiative IIMBx, has announced a new FinTech Certificate Programme for early-career professionals and students. The online course is supported by the Government of Karnataka as part of the Skilling and Training pillar of the Centre of Excellence in Fintech, set up by the Department of Electronics, IT, and Biotechnology.

The digital learning initiative of IIMB is run by the IIMBx Digital Learning Foundation IIMBx DLF), which is a company under the IIMB umbrella. The programme aims to build knowledge of both foundational and advanced aspects of the fintech ecosystem.

According to a statement from the institute, the launch of the course comes at a time when financial technologies are seeing rapid adoption, leading to greater financial innovation and expanded access to services. The organisers aim to align the programme’s content with industry needs, enabling participants to pursue roles across the fintech sector.
Course details
The programme will be delivered in two phases. The first is a six-month Foundation Certificate, followed by a three-month Advanced Certificate for those who complete the first stage. The initiative is supported by a government grant, which enables it to be offered at a subsidised fee.
IIM-Udaipur launches new Executive Program in Product Management
IIMBx will deliver the course through a blended asynchronous model. Course materials will be made available in phases, with sufficient time given for completion before the next set is released.
The structure includes recorded lectures, supplementary reading materials, ungraded activities, and graded assessments. Content transcripts will be available in both Kannada and English. Live sessions will be used for discussions, industry interaction, and problem-solving. Learner support will include doubt-clearing sessions and other academic assistance.

IIM Bangalore launches programme for senior professionals, application underway
The curriculum covers conceptual areas such as business strategy, people management, finance and accounting, product management, and regulation of financial services. It also addresses the main segments of the fintech industry, including lending, insurance, payments, and wealth management. The programme is designed to prepare participants for diverse roles in the sector, including strategy, product management, and entrepreneurship.
The programme will be led by Professor G. Sabarinathan, retired faculty member in the Finance and Accounting area at IIMB. The course content will combine academic instruction with contributions from industry professionals, according the official notice.
