Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater won’t ship with its recently revealed online Fox Hunt mode when it releases for PS5 at the end of the month. Instead, publisher Konami says it’ll arrive in the Fall / Autumn.
The news was confirmed in social media posts from the company, where it said: “Our new online multiplayer mode, FOX HUNT, launches Fall 2025!” Konami pitches the online multiplayer mode as the following: “Experience exciting hide-and-seek style gameplay based around central elements of camouflage and survival.”

In practice, the mode appears to pit two teams against one another, with one tasked with utilising their sneaking suits to hide in the environment and avoid detection. Meanwhile, the other team must find and kill them.
As well as the remake of the Metal Gear Solid 3 campaign, Delta also ships with the Snake vs. Monkey minigame, which sees Big Boss trying to track down monkeys from Ape Escape. In the Xbox version, the Ape Escape monkeys have been replaced with Bomberman.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater launches for PS5 on 28th August 2025, or you can gain access two days early via a Digital Deluxe Edition. When we previewed the opening Virtuos Mission of the PS5 remake last year, we explained: “This essentially is that original game with a complete current-gen makeover, updated controls, and a few new quality-of-life additions and improvements. While the base inputs remain an option, this Delta version is designed to make Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater a world-beater all over again.”
