Cash, stocks and property is all that we want

    March 15, 20251 Min Read

According to a survey conducted by Knight Frank, 23% of the Next Gen Indian high net worth individuals (HNWIs) have cited stocks as an investment of priority. About 22% and 21% cited cash and property as their priority investments.

Globally, 22% of Next Gen HNWIs have placed stocks as a priority investment, followed by property and cash.

    What they want

Cryptocurrencies and digital assets have found preferred investments by 5% of Next Gen Indian HNWIs and with 9% HNWIs globally. Bonds have found preference by 8% Indian HNWIs, and by 6.5% HNWIs globally.

Sharing an overall global inference, Knight Frank stated that while cryptocurrencies, venture capital or prized art pieces may generate the headlines, the younger affluent generation is still drawn to the classic trio of stocks, property and cash, which remain the most popular investment avenues across income levels. On the global level, analysis by gender reveals nuanced investment preferences, with males gravitating towards stocks while females prefer property and cash investments. From Indian context, stock is the most preferred investment avenue for both next gen male and female HNWIs.
