The August mailing days for United States Social Security check payments are coming to an end. This benefit payment arrives once a month on different days depending on which group of retirees we belong to. And in August we find that very soon the last of the month’s payments will be sent out.
The most striking thing about this is that in reality the rest of the beneficiaries should already have the payment in their current account. After all, this August 28th payment is the last of the retirement payments sent by the Social Security Administration to its beneficiaries. Check your eligibility to see if you will get a check on this day of the month.
August 28th Social Security Eligibility Requirements
The last of the payments for the entire month of August 2024 will be on the 28th of this month. So if you are expecting to get one of these monthly checks you should know that if you are not eligible for this payment you may have to claim the late payment. Therefore, check well the requirements in order to enjoy your monthly benefit.
In this sense, there are two mandatory requirements if we want to get our August 28th Social Security benefit check. The first of these requirements is to have a retirement benefit since after May 1997. The second requirement is to have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
If we meet both of these conditions, the August 28th, 2024 Social Security payment, which will be the last of the full month’s payments, will be made to us. The check may arrive on the same day of mailing if we have Direct Deposit activated, or it may arrive a few days later if we do not have this collection method activated.
August 2024 Social Security Extra Payment
Although it is true that the August 28th payment is the last of the Social Security retirement payments for the entire month of August 2024, it is also true that before the end of the month we will receive an extra check if we are eligible.
This extra payment is not a retirement payment, as it is a totally different check. The payment in question is the Supplemental Security Income. If we have this benefit accepted, the Social Security Administration will send us on August 30th an extra payment that corresponds to the September payment schedule.
The reason for this is that August 1st, 2024 is a weekend. When this happens, the Social Security Administration sends the payment on the immediately preceding business day and in this case we are talking about August 30th.
