Copper prices on Monday rose 0.65 per cent to Rs814 per kilogram in the futures market on the back of higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for delivery in September traded higher Rs5.25 or 0.65 per cent at Rs814 per kg in a business turnover of 3,611 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to the raising of bets by participants.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium contracts for August delivery increased Rs2.80 or 1.28 per cent to Rs221.85 per kg in a business turnover of 3,467 lots.
